Flotation Test on a Cu-Co Oxide Ore in the Democratic Republic of Congo
A low-grade copper-cobalt oxide ore in Congo(DRC)has copper grade of 1.77%and co-balt grade of 0.21%.The ore has a high oxidation rate and belongs to complex refractory copper-cobalt oxide ore. When the grinding fineness is-0.074 mm accounting for 70%,the flotation process of first separation sulfide ore and then separation oxide ore is adopted. In the flotation of sulfide ore, butyl xanthate+ethylthio-carbamate is used as collector. In the flotation of oxide ore, sodium sulfide is used as regulator,ethylenedi-amine phosphoric acid is used as auxiliary collector and benzohydroxamic acid is used as collector.Sulfide concentrate with copper grade of 32.13%and cobalt grade of 2.57%and oxidized concentrate with copper grade of 26.84%and cobalt grade of 1.88%are obtained through closed circuit flotation process, the total copper recovery rate is 89.38%and the total cobalt recovery rate is 55.32%.The comprehensive recovery rate of copper and cobalt is high, which has high application value for the extraction of low-grade copper-cobalt oxide ore resources.
