Influence of the New Type Foam Stabilizer Tragacanth Gum on the Properties of All-solid-waste-based Foam Concrete
Foam stability is a key factor affecting the performance of total solid waste foam concrete(SWFC),and improving the viscosity of foaming liquid is considered to be an effective way to improve the stability of prefabricated foam. The effect of yarrow bark gum on the compressive strength of foam concrete was investigated using yarrow bark gum as a new foam stabiliser, and the mechanism of the effect of yarrow bark gum on the compressive strength of SWFC was analysed by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and field emission scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The results showed that the incorporation of yarrow gum increased the foaming multiplicity of the blowing agent and the foam stabilization half-life time, and enhanced the stabili-ty of the foam.In the system with hydrogen peroxide as the blowing agent, with the increase of yarrow gum doping, the compressive strength of SWFC showed a trend of decreasing and then increasing. When the dos-age of yarrow gum was 0.2%.The proportion of microporous SWFC was the largest, and the distribution of pore size was more uniform. The appropriate amount of yarrow gum could reduce the pore size of the foaming pore size, and at the same time,it could promote the hydration reaction of the gelling material and enhance the compactness of the pore wall,so as to significantly increase the compressive strength of SWFC.XRD and SEM results show that the hydration products in SWFC are calcium hydroxide(CH),alumina(AFt),and calcium silicate hydrate(C—S—H),and the generation of hydration products improves the mechanical properties of SWFC.The study realized the requirement of ultra-light weight and high strength of SWFC,further expands the scope of solid waste resource utilization.
