Source Number Estimation Method for Passive Radar Seeker Based on Compressed Sensing
With the development of radar anti-destruction technology, passive radar seeker faces with challenge of super-resolu-tion direction finding in incompletely overlapped signal caused by radar and decoys. In this situation,it needs single snapshot di-rection finding technology. Most existing technologies assume that the number of sources is known. However, the performance of traditional source number estimation algorithm declines sharply or even fails in single snapshot. To solve this problem,a source number estimation method for passive radar seeker based on compressed sensing is proposed.Firstly, sparse representation of ar-ray direction finding model for passive radar seeker is constructed. Then, degree reduction and decoherence by the combination of subspace algorithm and compressed sensing algorithm are processed. Finally,a improved orthogonal matching pursuit algo-rithm is proposed, that focuses on the variation of residuals and constructs objective function to estimate source number.Simula-tion results show the relatively high success rate of this estimation method in extreme cases of single snapshot, fewer array ele-ments and coherent signal situation.
