Electromagnetic Scattering Characteristics of River Surface and Side Scan Radar Equation
Side scan radar is installed on the river bank to measure the river surface velocity, which is a new application direction of radar in recent years. The detection range of radar is related to the incident angle and the wave height on the river surface. In this paper, the range equation of P-band side scan radar is derived. The empirical model and actual electromagnetic calculation are used respectively, the water surface scattering characteristic solid model is constructed by fractal theory, and the normalized scat-tering coefficient is calculated by the combination of physical optics and physical diffraction theory.Based on the side scan radar deployed in a hydrological station in Yichang, the echo signal of the measured data is converted into the scattering characteristic trend descriptive data corresponding to the incident angle.By comparing the measured data with the theoretical electromagnetic cal-culation results,it can be seen that the actual results calculated by the water surface scattering characteristic calculation method can be consistent with the measured data in trend, with high similarity and high reference value.
