Research progress of chiral neonicotinoid insecticides
Neonicotinoid insecticide is a type of highly efficient and broad-spectrum insecticide.Developing new insecticides based on this structure often requires the introduction of chiral centers to obtain a greater chemical modification space.However,there are obvious differences in the insecticidal activity,non-target toxicity,and environmental metabolic behavior among different chiral isomers.The development of chiral neonicotinoid insecticides helps promote the greening process of pesticide creation.The research progress of chiral neonicotinoid insecticides was reviewed in this paper,and the structural characteristics,synthesis methods,structure-activity relationships,biological toxicity,and environmental metabolic behaviors of such chiral active molecules were discassed.It was proposed that the creation of chiral pesticides need to consider the difficulty of chiral synthesis in the early design stage,and require the cross-linking of organic chemistry and pesticide creation research teams.The dual directions of chiral synthesis technology-oriented chiral pesticide creation and chiral pesticide dominant skeleton-oriented chiral synthesis technology development could help the creation of green chiral pesticides and achieve the sustainable control of crop diseases,pests,and weeds.
