Effect of Polybutadiene Latex by Different Agglomeration Methods on Properties of ABS
Large particle size polybutadiene latex(PBL)was obtained by high molecular agglomeration method and acetic acid agglomeration method respectively, and then emulsion graft polymerization with acrylonitrile(AN)and styrene(St)was carried out to prepare acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer(ABS)high rubber powder.ABS resin was prepared by blending and extruding ABS high adhesive powder with acrylonitrile styrene copolymer(SAN).The effects of two agglomeration methods on particle morphology, particle size, particle size distribution index of PBL and properties of ABS resin were studied. The results show that compared with acetic acid agglomeration method PBL,polymer agglomeration method PBL have a larger particle size distribution index, generally greater than 0.10,poorer particle size uniformity and the presence of agglomeration phenomenon. After grafting, polymer agglomeration method PBL shows a phenomenon of adhesion. The cross-section of the ABS spline obtained by polymer agglomeration method PBL does not have a clear"sea-island"structure,and its impact resistance is generally poor.
