Study on Flame Retardant Modification of High Temperature Resistant Nylon PA6T-66
The flame retardant synergistic effect of the combination of diethyl aluminum hypophosphate(OP1230)and silica(SiO2)on poly(p-phenylenediamine)/adipic anhydride(PA6 T-66)resin was explored. The results show that the addition of OP1230 can significantly improve the limit oxygen index(LOI)of the material. When the mass fraction of OP1230 is 6.0%,LOI of the material increases from 21.8%(OP1230 not added)to 28.7%,and the UL-94 flame retardant test reaches V-2 level. On this basis, the flame retardant performance of the material is further improved by compounding SiO2.When the mass fraction of SiO2 is 3.0%,LOI of the material increases to 29.4%,and the UL-94 flame retardant test reaches V-0 level. The thermal oxidative degradation and cone calorimetry data further demonstrate the synergistic effect of OP1230 and SiO2 in the PA6 T-66 flame retardant system.
