Preparation and Properties of Irradiated Cross-Linked LDPE/HDPE Foam Materials
Low density polyethylene(LDPE)/high density polyethylene(HDPE)foam materials were prepared using melt blending and irradiation crosslinking techniques.Effects of HDPE content on processing liquidity, thermal properties, rheological properties, foaming behavior, mechanical properties and thermal conductivity of LDPE/HDPE foam materials were studied. The results show that the addition of HDPE significantly improves the melt flow rate and crystallinity of LDPE/HDPE foam materials.Compared with pure LDPE foam material, when the mass fraction of HDPE is 30%,the tensile strength of LDPE/HDPE foam material increases by 32.3%,compressive strength increases by 67.5%,Shore hardness increases by 14.3%and resilience decreases by 16.0%,indicating the best overall performance.
