Effect of Stiffening Nucleating Agent on Properties of Impact Copolymer Polypropylene with Low Melt Flow Rate
The low melt flow rate(MFR)impact resistant polypropylene C7025 N(referred to as PP-1)produced by Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical Co.,Ltd.was taken as the research object. The effects of two types of stiffening nucleating agents on the structure and properties of PP-1 were studied, and the structure and properties were compared with those of two commercial products(referred to as PP-2 and PP-3 respectively). The results show that both types of stiffening nucleating agents can enhance MFR,flexural modulus and tensile strength of PP-1,but the change in notch impact strength is not significant. At the same time, the crystallization temperature and hot deformation temperature are significantly increased, and the stiffness toughness balance is at the same level as those of PP-2 and PP-3,meeting the requirements of the product. The resulting product performs well in drop testing and four-layer stacking testing.
