The combustion process and flame retardant mechanisms of epoxy polymers(EP)were introduced,and the research progress in flame retardants for EP was reviewed.The focus was placed on elucidating the influence of halogen-based,phosphorus-based,nitrogen-based,silicon-based,boron-based,nano-based and bio-based flame retardants,as well as synergistic flame retardants,on the flame retardancy of EP composites.Furthermore,the future development trends of flame retardant EP composites were prospected.
