Study on Properties of Modified Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate Emulsion for Cigarette Adhesive Applications
Modified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer(EVA)emulsion was prepared by blending EVA with γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(KH-570)at different mass ratios, and its properties were studied using differential scanning calorimetry, particle size analyzer,Fourier transform infrared spectrometer and rotational rheometer. The results show that when the mass fraction of KH-570 is 30%,the glass transition temperature(Tg)of the modified EVA emulsion is as low as-6.7 ℃,the peel strength reaches the maximum value of 68.4 N/m,and the particle size is uniform, the stability is good, and the solid mass fraction is 64.65%.
