Difference:Interoceptive Characteristics in Children With Autism
Interoception refers to the perception of the internal state of the body, which reflects the internal state of the body and its internal organs, rather than the perception of external stimuli(such as sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell). In order to explore the interoceptive characteristics of children with autism,a heartbeat tracking task was used to compare the accuracy of interoception between children with autism and children with typical development. The results show that the interoceptive characteristics of autistic children show a unique pattern, and autistic children show more stable interoceptive characteristics in long-term heartbeat tracking tasks, which may be related to the social disorder of autism and this provides a new empirical basis for further exploring the causes and intervention methods of autism from the perspective of interoception.
