KAPs related to salt among students' parents in elementary and middle schools of Chengdu
Objective This work was to analyze the status of dietary behaviors among parents of students,so to provide basic data and scientific evidence for further dietary behavior intervention.Methods Questionnaire survey was carried out to students' parents from three elementary schools,three middle schools and 3 high schools in Chengdu selected by multistage cluster random sampling method.Results Overall,tbe awareness rate for the appropriate sodium intake were 43.6%.Among the parents of students,only 3.4% can identify all five high-sodium flavoring; 0.7% can identify all the invisible salt food;60.5% had heard of controlled salt spoon; 19.2% would require less salt while dining outside; 23.4% would take the initiative to buy low salt food; 16.7% chose food according to the nutritional composition table (nutrition label).Conclusion The conditions of KAPs related to salt of the target population should be further improved.Nutrition interventions should be conducted to improve the dietary behavior of parents.
