Clinical study on the treatment of facial paralysis by magnetic stimulation of Yifeng acupoint combined with acupuncture
Objective To observe the clinical effect of repetitive magnetic stimulation of Yifeng acupoint combined with acupuncture on facial paralysis. Methods Eighty patients from the Rehabilitation Clinic of Ruijin Hospital with first-episode moderate to severe facial paralysis were divided into an treatment group and a control group, with 40 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with repeated magnetic stimulation of Yifeng acupoint combined with acupuncture, while the control group was only treated with acupuncture to observe its clinical efficacy. The recovery of facial nerve function was evaluated using electromyography, the House Brackmann(H-B)grading scale, and the Sunnybrook facial scoring system(SFGS).Results The effective rate of treatment in the treatment group was85.00%,significantly better than the control group(60.00%).After intervention, the facial nerve function of both groups improved compared to before(P<0.05),and the facial nerve function,H-B,SFGS scores of the treatment group were better than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Repetitive magnetic stimulation of Yifeng acupoint combined with acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment for moderate and severe facial paralysis, which can accelerate the recovery of facial nerve function and provide a new treatment idea for further improving the prognosis of patients with facial paralysis.
