Research of Alzheimer's disease brain structural network based on graph theory
The aim of this study is to utilize graph theoretic analysis to investigate the changes in brain properties of patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI)and Alzheimer Disease(AD),and to provide new insights for early diagnosis and treatment. With the help of diffusion tensor technology to construct the white matter network of human brain,we comprehensively assessed the structural changes of the brain of AD and MCI patients based on both local and whole brain levels. At the whole-brain level, both AD and MCI patients showed significant abnormalities in network topological parameters and significant changes in hub nodes. In addition,AD patients showed abnormal right-skewed asymmetry. At the level of local brain regions,We found that the inferior frontal gyrus(triangular part)and bilateral supplementary motor areas have the potential to serve as key biomarkers in predicting the progression of Alzheimer's disease(AD).Therefore, exploring the changes in brain properties of AD and MCI patients by graph theory analysis provides new clues for early diagnosis and intervention of the disease.
