The Application of scenario simulation combined with problem-based learning(PBL)in training on doctor-patient communication in asthma pharmacy outpatient clinics
Objective To explore the application effect of scenario simulation combined with Problem-Based Learning(PBL)in training pharmacy students on doctor-patient communication skills in asthma pharmacy outpatient clinics. Methods From February 2022 to August 2023,pharmacy students at Songshanhu Central Hospital in Dongguan City underwent training on doctor-patient communication skills in asthma pharmacy outpatient clinics. The trainees were divided into control group and obser-vation group, each consisting of 30 individuals. The control group received traditional doctor-patient communication teaching methods, while the observation group received scenario simulation combined with PBL teaching method.Common inhalation de-vice usage technique scores,SEGUE scores, and communication and reception ability scores of the two groups were analyzed. Results Compared with the control group, the observation group showed significantly higher scores in common inhalation device usage technique,SEGUE,and communication and reception ability, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The improvement rate of doctor-patient communication skills was higher. Conclusion Scenario simulation combined with PBL teach-ing method can enhance the doctor-patient communication skills of pharmacy students in asthma pharmacy outpatient clinics, making it an ideal teaching model for doctor-patient communication training in asthma pharmacy outpatient clinics.
