Objective Study the value of C-arm guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation of the trigeminal semilunar gan-glion combined with glycerol in the treatment of elderly trigeminal neuralgia. Methods A total of 180 patients with trigeminal neu-ralgia admitted to our hospital from Jan 2022 to June 2023 were selected for inclusion in the study. They were divided into an obser-vation group and a control group using a random number table method, with 90 patients in each group. The control group was treated with radiofrequency thermocoagulation, while the observation group was treated with radiofrequency thermocoagulation combined with glycerol blockade.Observe the treatment effects of two groups, compare the pain visual analogue score(VAS)and sleep quality score of the two groups of patients before and after treatment, detect the serum inflammatory factor levels of the two groups of pa-tients before and after treatment, and record the incidence of complications in the two groups of patients. Results The treatment effect of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05);After treatment, the VAS and sleep quality scores of the two groups of patients decreased compared to before treatment, and the observation group was lower than the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05);After treatment, the levels of interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)in the two groups decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),After treatment, the levels of IL-6,TNF-α and TGF-β in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05);There was no statistically significant difference in the total incidence of complications between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of C-arm guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation and glycerol blockade has a significant therapeutic effect, which can reduce the pain level of pa-tients,improve their sleep quality, and have a low incidence of complications, making it suitable for clinical treatment.
