Exploration of Establishing the Elderly Friendly Medical Institutions in Cancer Specialized Hospitals
With the continuous acceleration of China's aging process,the importance of building the elderly friendly medical institutions is becoming increasingly prominent.Unlike comprehensive hospitals,cancer hospitals are weak in geriatric medicine,combination of medical and nursing care and spatial facilities,while the cancer patients have stronger psychological and nutritional needs.Therefore,cancer hospitals need to be established according to their own characteristics.The authors introduce the experience and practice of a cancer hospital from four dimensions:elderly friendly management,friendly environment,friendly service and friendly culture,including strengthening health education,improving volunteer teams,strengthening employee training,opening up green channels,promoting multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment,optimizing indoor and outdoor environments,and matching equipment and facilities.The reference is provided for other cancer hospitals to establish age-friendly medical institutions relying on the newly expanded area of the hospital spatial scale,and the development of the department of psychology and nutrition.
