The Application of"Three Reasonable"Inspections in Controlling the Proportion of Drugs and Consumption in Public Hospitals
Objective:To explore the value of the"three rational"inspection program in the proportion of drug control,consumption ratio and the overall cost in public hospitals.Method:Data on the proportion of drugs,consumption,and the overall cost publicly disclosed at Wujin People's Hospital in Changzhou from January 2021 to June 2023 were selected,the changes in these data since the implementation of the"three reasonable"inspection plan in January 2022 analyzed,and the effectiveness of the"three reasonable"inspection in controlling medical costs evaluated.Result:Compared with 2021,the per capita expenses,drug proportion,and consumption proportion of outpatient and the hospitalized patients have significantly decreased in 2022.And in the first half of 2023,the proportion and consumption of drugs among the hospitalized patients further decreased.The average length of hospital stay,and the proportion and consumption of drugs in the total medical expenses of the hospital continue to decline.Conclusion:Through the implementation of the"three reasonable"inspection plan,public hospitals can effectively control the proportion of drugs,consumption,and per capita costs,promote the refined hospital management,shorten the average length of hospital stay,and improve patient satisfaction.
