Pareto Analysis of the Results of Prescription Reviews in Outpatient Cardiology Department of a Hospital
Objective:The solutions to ensure rational drug use for patients through investigation and analysis of the unreasonable prescriptions in a hospital.Method:A retrospective analysis method was used to review and analyze 45,796 prescriptions, with the help of prescription review system,in the outpatient cardiology department of the First Medical Center of the PLA Comprehensive Hospital from August 2022 to April 2023,and the reasons for the unreasonable prescriptions were analyzed by Pareto method.Result:There were 41,313 reasonable prescriptions and 4,483 unreasonable prescriptions, with the rational rate of 90.21%and irrational rate of 9.79%.Pareto analysis showed that the main irrational type was drug use without indication(1,809 cases,35.86%),and inappropriate drug selection(1,266 cases,25.10%),that the secondary irrational type was overdose drug use(1,031 cases,20.44%),and that the general irrational type was inappropriate usage(632 cases,12.53%),interaction(260 cases,5.15%),and the repeated administration(46 cases,0.91%).Conclusion:There were irrational prescriptions in the outpatient cardiology department of the hospital. Therefore, solutions were put forward to improve the rational rate of prescriptions according to the main irrational types displayed by Pareto method.
