Artificial hybridization and breeding techniques of male Diodon hystrix and female Diodon holocanthus
Diodon hystrix and D.holocanthus, economically valuable fish species with significant potential for cultivation and development, are widely distributed along the southeast coast of China. In this paper, two artificial hybrid systems of Diodon hystrix and D.holocanthus were explored through fish cultivation, gonad ripening, insemination incubation and seedling cultivation. The study showed that the gonadal index of the experimental group was better than that of the control group through artificial allocation of food, which effectively promoted the gonadal development of the parent fish.In terms of gonadal maturation, the gonadal synchronization rate of parents reached(76.5±2.4)%by injecting proper amount of chorionic gonadotropin and luteinizing hormone releasing hormone A2,which was significantly better than that of the control group. In addition,in terms of insemination and incubation, the fertilization rate reached(76.8±1.9)%and hatching rate reached(83.6±2.8)%through artificial insemination and suitable incubation conditions, which was significantly better than that of the control group. Moreover, after 60 days of breeding, the prelarval fish with a body length of(5.78±0.69)cm were bred by adjusting different diets at different juvenile fish developmental stages. The results of the present study can provide technical support for further exploration of hybrid varieties with excellent characters, and have important practical significance for promoting the diversification of aquaculture species and improving the structure of fishery industry.
