Research progress on regeneration of amputated limbs of two economic crabs,Chinese mitten crab(Eriocheir sinensis)and swimming crab(Portunus trituberculatus)
The function of limb regeneration is universal in crustaceans and is the basic guarantee for them to respond to the external environment.Exploring the mechanism of limb regeneration is an important research focus. In this paper, the research progress on the regeneration of severed limbs of two economic crabs,Chinese mitten crab(Eriocheir sinensis)and swimming crab(Portunus trituberculatus),was reviewed. The growth phenotypic characteristics, physiological and ecological characteristics, behavioral characteristics, functional genes related to limb regeneration, and related signal pathways were summarized, and the future research trend was prospected, aiming to provide a reference for further exploration of molecular mechanisms of limb regeneration in the future.
