Effect of Three-dimensional Conformal Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy on Serum Tumor Markers and Quality of Life in Patients with Advanced Esophageal Cancer
Objective:To explore the effect of CT simulated three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy in patients with advanced esophageal cancer.Methods:72 patients with advanced esophageal cancer diagnosed and treated in our hospital from March 2020 to March 2021 were randomly divided into two groups with 36 cases each. The control group was treated with conventional simulated localization radiotherapy, while the observation group was treated with CT simulated localization three-dimensional conformal intensity modulated radiotherapy, with 5 cycles of 5 days. The clinical efficacy, serum tumor markers and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results:the total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05);After treatment, the levels of carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),human cytokeratin 21-1 fragment(CYFRA21-1)and carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the scores of all dimensions in the WHO quality of life scale(WHOQOL-BREF)were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:CT simulated three-dimensional conformal intensity modulated radiotherapy plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with advanced esophageal cancer. It can down regulate the expression of tumor markers and improve their quality of life.
