Fire Protection Renovation of the Tradition Village in Northwest Henan Province
Through site survey on the courtyard style brick-andwood structure dwellings in the northwest of Henan Province (Zhaibuchang Village in Jiaozuo,Henan Province),the authors identified the defects of the dwelling house such as large fire load, high risks with using fire,electricity and gas,easy fire spread and lack of fire equipment and facilities. Aiming at inability to reduce the combustible load on structure and combining with the principle of conservation of historic building,they brought forward the fire protection measures suitable for ancient building and traditional village including setting up additional automatic fire alarm system, fire hydrant system, and indoor fire hydrant system installed externally in the yardm,assigning fire extinguishers,improving the rescue capability,and etc.
