The agriculture modernization with Chinese characteristics not only has the characteristics of agricultural modernization in various countries around the world,but also has distinct Chinese charac-teristics.In the process of agriculture modernization with Chinese characteristics since the foundation of the Communist Party of China,it has gone through four stages:trial and exploration,concept pro-posal,in-depth development,and demonstrating new advantages and new momentum.A comprehen-sive retrospective of the development process of agriculture modernization with Chinese characteristics from a new starting point is an important basis for clarifying the basic tasks of modernization of agri-culture with Chinese characteristics.The agriculture modernization with Chinese characteristics in the new era should be committed to achieving four basic tasks:food security,technological support,in-dustrial upgrading and rural governance.The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of Chi-na proposed that Chinese path to modernization has five basic characteristics.Chinese path to modern-ization is reflected in all fields of China's economic and social development,covering all Chinese peo-ple.It can be seen that agricultural modernization should also be Chinese style,and the realization of agricultural modernization must follow the development path of Chinese path to modernization.Therefore,agriculture modernization with Chinese characteristics should also have these five basic characteristics.
