Modernization of Traditional Filial Piety Culture in the Process of Chinese Path to Modernization
In terms of spirit,traditional filial piety culture is mainly embodied in the requirements of fil-ial piety in five respects such as filial nurturing,filial respect,filial submitting,filial remonstrance and filial piety.In the process of Chinese path to modernization,the traditional filial piety culture shows the trend of indifference of filial piety awareness at the conceptual level,materialization of sup-port behavior at the behavioral level and networking of family ties at the technical level.Chinese path to modernization not only contains but also requires the modern transformation of traditional filial pie-ty culture from the concept and behavior,or the transformation from the concept of"patriarchy first"to the concept of democracy and equality,from the concept of"bringing up children to providing for the aged"to the concept of social pension,from the concept of family ethics to the concept of common social values,from child care to intelligent pension,from focusing on material offerings to focusing on spiritual comfort,from physical support to knowledge support.
