Preparation and Properties of Polycaprolactone/Naproxen Composites by Electrospraying
Naproxen-loaded polycaprolactonecomposites were successfully designed by electrospraying used polycaprolactone(PCL)as carrier material and Naproxen(NPX)as model drug. The morpholo-gy,structure and properties of PCL/NPX composites were analyzed by scanning electron microscope(SEM),X ray diffractometer(XRD),infrared spectrophotometer(FITR),differential scanning calo-rimetry(DSC),thermogravimetric analyzer(TG)and UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Results showed that the PCL/NPX composites showed smooth surface with diameter between 1~5pm and narrow par-ticle size distribution.NPX was loaded in PCL with amorphous state, and the chemical composition was unchanged. The thermal stability of PCL/NPX composites was significantly improved than that of pure NPX.With the increase content of NPX,the release rate and cumulative release amount of NPX from PCL/NPX composites decreased. The cumulative release amount of NPX from PCL/NPX composites reached 77.5%at the end of 24h when the NPX content added to 10%.The PCL/NPX composites prepared by electrospraying method are expected to provide valuable reference for the re-search and development of sustained-release agents.
