The Historical Evolution and Enlightenment of Higher Education in Promoting Social Mobility in China
Looking back at the historical context of higher education in promoting social mobility in China, it is found that the social mobility function of higher education has a positive effect, and it exhibits different historical charac-teristics in different historical periods. By analyzing the factors of solidification and tension that higher education promotes social mobility, it can be concluded that there are solidification factors in higher education in terms of social class, inter-nal education system, and threshold of employment market. There are tension factors in the transmission of knowledge and skills, the construction of social networks, and the accumulation of cultural capital. Therefore, corresponding inspira-tions can be drawn: we should strengthen the equalization of opportunities in higher education, accelerate the de stratifi -cation of the higher education system, and Strengthen the connection between higher education and the labor market.
