Research on the Anti-nostalgic Writing in Colm Tóibín's Brooklyn
Since the 1960s,the modern Irish diasporic literature has demonstrated a strong con-sciousness of breaking with the old by constantly casting doubt and imposing modification on the iden-tity beliefs and value orientations against a multicultural background.New directions emerge from the old nationalist narrative and the victim diaspora model, aiming to confront the traumatic history of im-migration and its continuation with a particularized and sincere attitude.Based on the new directions of Irish transnational diaspora narrative, this article aims to analyze the connotation and practical meaning of anti-nostalgic writing in Colm Tóibín's Broooklyn, and to measure the author's diagnosis of Irish so-ciety and culture in the mid-20th century,in an effort to explore the post-nationalist diaspora writer's ef-forts for the transnational Irish construction under the multidimensional format.
