Dong Zhongshu's thoughts on social education are quite distinctive,including the possi-bility and necessity of social education of"good and bad nature"and"good nature through education",and the role of social education with social education as the mainstay and punishment as a supplement.The most important thing is to lead by example,to set an example,to select talents to enrich govern-ment mechanism at all levels so that they can carry out the important task of implementing social educa-tion,and to base the method of social education on the premise of enriching the people.He was able to put forward these ideas not only by absorbing the rich ideological nourishment accumulated by his pre-decessors,but also by paying inseparable attention to practical problems,and by benefiting from his high academic quality.These theories of social education are sacred and inviolable due to the combina-tion of the yin and yang of heaven,and have been recognized by the royal power.They have moved from theory to reality and practice,and have had an important influence on the feudal society of my country at that time and beyond.
