Shaanxi Sui Dynasty Pei Zheng's Tomb Excavation Bulletin
In June 2020,Shaanxi Provincial Research Institute of Archaeology excavated a number of tombs of Sui and Tang dynasties in the north of Gongdong Village,Qinhan New City,Xixian New District,among which M8 was well preserved and a tombstone was unearthed.The owner of the tomb-stone is Pei Zheng,a member of the Hedong Pei family recorded in Northern History and Sui Shu,who was buried in the second year of Sui Kaihuang.Although the tomb was robbed,the archaeologists still unearthed more than one hundred pieces of attendant burial objects.The tombstone unearthed,on the one hand,can confirm the early Sui Dynasty tomb shape,artifacts specification.On the other hand,the contents of the tombstone can prove that a number of historical data errors.
