A Preliminary Study of the Jin Dynasty Astronomical Institution
In the process of conquering the Liao and Song Dynasties,the Jurchens gradually ab-sorbed the achievements of astronomy and horoscope,thus exploring the establishment of astronomical institutions of the dynasty.After years of development,the Sitiantai system established by the"Zhen-glong Official System"of the Hailing King marked the final completion of the Jin Dynasty's astronom-ical institution.Based on the references from the relevant systems and cultures of the Tang,Liao,and Song dynasties,the Jin Dynasty went through various forms from Si Tianjian,Taishi Bureau to Si Tian-tai,and was finally transformed by the Jurchens into a new system between the"Liao and Song dynas-ties",which was not a dual system of the Song Dynasty in terms of setting.The establishment of astro-nomical institutions was an inevitable choice for the rulers of the Jin Dynasty and played an important role in maintaining the legitimacy and legitimacy of their regime.The development process of astro-nomical institutions of the Jin Dynasty also reveals the attitudes and measures of the Jin Dynasty in the face of the institutional culture of the Central Plains.
