Simultaneous Determination of 16 Rare Earth Elements in Red Mud by Graphite Digestion-ICP-OES
The red mud was digested by nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid and perchloric acid with graph-ite,and 16 rare earth elements in the red mud were determined simultaneously by ICP-OES.An efficient and accurate quanti-tative analysis method for rare earth elements was established.Matrix matching and internal standard method(RE)were used to eliminate matrix effect and compensation correction. The influence of coexisting elements on the experiment was studied.16 rare earth elements in Guinean red mud were determined by ICP-OES and ICP-MS,and the results of the two methods were basically consistent.Under the selected conditions, the detection limit of the method is in the range of 0.00059 mg/L~0.06092 mg/L,the recovery is in the range of 95.2%~107.4%,and the relative standard deviations(RSD,n=8)is in the range of 0.12%~3.57%.The method has the advantages of low detection limit, wide linear range, high accuracy and simple and quick operation.
