Photocatalytic Property of CeO2 Synthesized in Different Molten Salt Systems
In this work, the photocatalytic properties of ceria which synthesized in K2CO3/Li2CO3,LiCl/KCl,CaCl2/NaCl,CaCl2/KCl and NaCl/KCl molten salt systems were investigated. The results show that the photocatalytic performance of CeO2 is synthesized by the molten salt method follows K2CO3/Li2CO3>LiCl/KCl>CaCl2/NaCl>CaCl2/KCl>NaCl/KCl,the best degradation ratio of methylene blue(MB)in 120 mins is measured as 95.91%.Taking CeO2 sythesized in the molten salt systems as the research object, the effects of pH=4~10 and reaction temperature of 25 ℃~65 ℃ on the photocatalytic degra-dation of methylene blue by CeO2 were investigated. Results show that with the rise of photocatalytic temperature, the catalytic activity of ceria was promoted firstly and then trended to decrease.Ceria presented the best catalytic property at 45 ℃with the MB reached 99.9%after 120 mins of reaction.Besides, the MB degradation rate continually increased with the elevation of solution pH,and the MB degradation rate was 99.36%after 120 min when the pH=10.Combined with the optimal reaction temperature and pH,the degradation efficiency of CeO2 on MB was further improved; The degradation rate of MB was 99.99%after 120 mins,k=0.03964 min-1.
