At the end of 1958,the"Drama Art Symposium",led by Ouyang Yuqian and hosted by the Ministry of Culture brought together renowned experts from the capital theater industry to discuss the important topic of"how to establish the Chinese theatrical system".Ouyang Yuqian and four groups of experts conducted in-depth discussions on employing scientific methods to learn the Stanislavski system,summarizing the traditional experience of Chinese theatrical performance art,and constructing a Chinese theatrical system.Ouyang Yuqian extensively listened to and collected the opinions of the participating experts,which helped him form an understanding of building a Chinese theatrical system from various aspects such as artistic practice,theoretical research,education and teaching,and theatre troupe construction.
