Exploration of Magnetic Particle Testing Technology for Q370R Oxygen Spherical Tank
During magnetic particle(MT)testing of the Q370R oxygen spherical tank in a certain steel plant,multiple trans-verse cracks were found on the upper circumferential weld seam.The formation of these cracks is due to a combination of fac-tors such as hydrogen diffusion,insufficient temperature control before and after welding,residual stress,and service load.Al-though there is still residual inorganic zinc rich anti-corrosion coating on the surface of the weld after polishing,there will still be a lot of false defects displayed during the testing process,so the inspector needs to be cautious in distinguishing.This article will delve into the magnetic particle testing technology for Q370R oxygen spherical tanks,in order to provide more effective technical support for quality testing of oxygen tanks.
