Cause Analysis and Elimination Methods of Edge Cracking De-fects in Hot-rolled Strip Steel
This article aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of edge cracking defects in hot-rolled steel coils.By observing the microstructure and measuring the grain size at the edge crack of the product,combined with analyzing the actual production sit-uation on site,it was determined that the mixed crystal phenomenon in the strip product is the main cause of the uneven longi-tudinal mechanical properties of the product,which leads to the occurrence of edge crack defects.On this basis,this article studied the causes of mixed crystal formation and determined that the mixed crystal structure is caused by the transverse tem-perature difference of the precision rolling process strip steel.Corresponding control measures were proposed to ensure that the transverse temperature difference in the width direction of the strip steel is≤20℃,in order to eliminate the mixed crystal structure and improve the yield rate.
