Mechanical Properties Testing of Tailings Filling in a Certain Iron Mine in Anshan
To mitigate the environmental impact of open-pit mines, using cemented tailings backfill is an effective method. This approach can prevent the connection between open-pit mines and groundwater channels, reducing the risk of flooding, and maintaining the stability of high steep slopes.Additionally,by comparing the compressive strength and mechanical proper-ties of different cementing materials, the most suitable material can be selected for backfilling, aiding in post-mining ecologi-cal restoration and environmental protection. This paper studies the mechanical properties of tailings from a specific iron mine in Anshan under various cementing materials and mix ratios.Through experiments, the compressive strength, tensile strength, and other mechanical parameters of the tailings backfill were determined under different concentration and cement-sand ratio conditions. The research results provide important technical support for the practical application of iron mine tailings backfill.
