Study on comprehensive mechanical properties test of yam
In order to obtain the mechanical property parameters of yam under different loading speeds,the compression,bending and tensile tests of"bulllegs"yam were carried out by microcomputer controlled electronic universal testing machine(WDW-5E).The axial compressive strength,axial elastic modulus,radial compressive strength,radial elastic modulus,flexural strength,flexural elastic modulus,tensile strength and tensile elastic modulus were measured at different loading speeds,which led to the conclusions that the bending breaking load of yam ranged from 40 N to 140 N;the elastic modulus of the axial and radial directions increased with the increase of loading speed;and the loading speed did not have a significant effect on the other parameters of the mechanical properties of yam.Through the study of the comprehensive mechanical properties of yam,it is possible to adjust the working parameters of machine tools during harvesting,reduce the damage of machinery to yam,and provide reference for the realization of intelligent mechanical harvesting of yam.
