There are three main types of corn for seed processing in Xinjiang:processing with peeled ears,processing without peeled ears,and processing with seeds.Processing with peeled ears requires peeling equipment,which causes minimal damage to the seeds,and drying the ears directly to a moisture content of 13%,but with high energy consumption.Processing without peeled ears requires separate drying of ears and seeds,with relatively low energy consumption.The seeds processing adopts nat-ural drying by spreading and sun drying,which will cause significant damage to the seeds.Through the research,it was found that processing without peeled ears is currently the most used processing method.
