Transformation Analysis of Green and Low-Carbon Grain Production in China from the Perspective of Sustainable Development
Green,low-carbon and sustainable development of grain is an important measure to coordinate development and securi-ty,stabilize production and reduce emissions,and ensure food security and ecological security.By calculating the carbon emis-sions,carbon absorption,net carbon benefits,and emission reduction potential of grain production at the national,regional,and va-riety levels,the paper finds that the low-carbon benefits of grain production in China are prominent due to the continuous enhance-ment of grain support policies and the continuous improvement of the application level of green production technology.However,the regional development is uneven,with higher levels in main production areas and lower levels in balanced areas;there are signif-icant differences in grain variety too,with high benefits for corn,rice,and wheat,and low benefits for soybeans and potatoes.From the perspective of carbon emission intensity and net carbon efficiency,there is significant room for carbon reduction in grain pro-duction in both the main and balanced areas.It is suggested to improve the top-level design,accelerate technology research,and set phased emission reduction targets in light of local conditions,to promote green and sustainable development,and achieve coor-dinated development of food security and carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
