The Impact of High-Quality Rural Financial Development on Urban-Rural Integration under the Background of Rural Revitalization
Urban-rural integration is the key to the overall revitalization of rural areas,and the high-quality development of rural fi-nance is the driving source to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas and promote the development of urban-rural integra-tion.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2012 to 2022(excluding Hong Kong,Macao,Taiwan and Tibet)this paper investigates the impact of high-quality development of rural finance on urban-rural integration.The results show that:(1)the high-quality development of rural finance significantly promotes urban and rural integration,with regional heterogeneity in this effect.It is notably significant in the eastern,central,and western regions of China,showing an"East-West-Central"impact trend,but is not significant in the Northeast;(2)the development level of digital economy has a positive and significant mediating effect on the impact of high-quality rural financial development on urban-rural integration;(3)there is a positive spatial spillover effect of high-quality rural financial development on urban-rural integration,meaning that the development of rural finance in one region can effectively promote urban-rural integration in surrounding areas,with this spatial spillover effect being more pronounced in ad-jacent regions than in the region itself.Therefore,high-quality rural financial development should deepen rural financial reform,strengthen regional cooperation and exchanges,improve rural digital development level and digital financial service capabilities,and create diversified and distinctive rural financial services,thus promoting urban-rural integration.
