Building a powerful nation of education is an important strategic deployment decided by the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.The integration of vocational education and general education,as a creative new idea put forward by the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on the basis of previous practice,is of great significance to the construction of a powerful nation of education.Integration of vocational education and general education is a developmental concept.From integration of general education and vocational education to integration of vocational education and general education,it highlights the importance of vocational education,emphasizes the integration of general education in vocational education,and aims to enhance the adaptability and attractiveness of vocational education.From"level"to"type",integration of vocational education and general education is the equivalent of integration of the two types of education under the same status.From"type"to"concept",the integration of vocational education and general education should go beyond the positioning of the type of vocational education and be upgraded to a concept,centering on the people,so that vocational education can be permeated and integrated in education and in real life anytime and anywhere.Its characterization points to the essential feature of the integrity of human development,the structural feature of openness,cross-border and synergy,and the content feature of the unity of high-quality development and high-quality service development.The path of strengthening the country through the integration of vocational education and general education needs to be empowered by the reform of education evaluation in the new era.However,in reality,the integration of vocational education and general education is still faced with the realities and evaluation problems of conceptual constraints,system bottlenecks,thinking limitations,and evaluation constraints,which impede the integration of vocational education and general education for a powerful nation of education.The value of integrating vocational education and general education in the strategy of a strong nation should be realized in the new era through cultural reshaping to enhance the recognition and attractiveness of vocational education,institutional restructuring to build a powerful nation of education for integrating vocational education and general education,thinking advancement to follow the systematic thinking paradigm of integrating and coexisting,and evaluation leadership to reverse the negative function of unscientific evaluation.
