Building the high standard free trade zone is an important strategic move that Chinese Central Party has made to promote reform and opening-up.On the occasion of establishing Xinjiang Free Trade Zone(XJFTZ,hereinafter),it is in urgent need to think about how to exert the comparative advantage of XJFTZ to the full to cre-ate a sample for high-quality development in the middle and western parts of China while serving for the construc-tion of the core zone in the"Belt and Road"and empowering the high-quality development of regional economy.This paper aims to make countermeasures and suggestions as to how to give XJFTZ full play to the system innovation advantage and to empower the high-quality development of regional economy by illustrating its development process,its policy and function orientation,and its comparative strength and weakness.
