Countermeasures for Optimizing the Foreign Trade Structure in Xinjiang Through the China-Europe Railway Express
The operation of the China-Europe Railway Express has driven the development of the foreign trade structure in Xinjiang in five key areas:import-export structure,country-specific structure,product structure,trade mode,and trade entity structure.It has also played varying roles in optimizing Xinjiang's foreign trade.Xin-jiang should seize the opportunities presented by the construction of the Urumqi International Land Port Area and China(Xinjiang)free trade pilot zone to further utilize the influence of the China-Europe Railway Express and expand its external reach westward.However,imbalances remain in Xinjiang's foreign trade entity structure during the operation of the China-Europe Railway Express.Thus Xinjiang should make full use of this developmental op-portunity and related policies to accelerate industrial restructuring,promote the export of Xinjiang's specialty prod-ucts via the railway,explore its resource advantages to expand markets in countries along the route,and diversify trade methods.Meanwhile Xinjiang should take most of the policies from the free trade pilot zone to empower trade entities and spur the potential power of the trade enterprises,with an aim of optimizing the foreign trade structure and promoting high-quality development of foreign trade in Xinjiang.
