“A Rose for Emily”is the most famous story. In this story various aspects illustrate patriarchal ideology, mainly including Mr. Grierson’s patriarchal domination of Emily,Emily’s limited options,the patriarchal attitudes of the townspeople,the patriarchal aspects of Emily’s relationship with Homer Barron. Furthermore, it is also a patriarchy-promoting story, which is shown by the characterization of Miss Emily and the portrayal of the townsfolk and the narrator.
