A brief discussion of deconstruction of Binary Oppositions in Tristram Shandy
Tristram Shandy is the masterpiece of 18 century English novelist Laurence Sterne. It is most famous for its unconventional narrative. This essay aims to show Sterne’s effort of disintegrating the logo centrism and binary opposition by illustrating three binary oppositions in the novel, namely, pre-sent and absent, substance and form, appearance and metaphor.
