The relationship between language and gender---a case study on Tess of the d’Urbervilles
There are certain differences between different genders in the use of language. Several reasons may contribute to the phenomenon. This thesis take some abstractions from the book Tess of the d’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy to analysis different characters’language traits from different aspects. Thus, we can get a better understanding of the characters’social status and the the author’s emotional atitude from the language characteristics of the characters.
