Gender Differences of Conversation Strategies in Alleviating Verbal Conflicts
People in different genders can present distinct feature in verbal communication and employ different strategies when dealing with different situations. Using recording of remarks from female and male host or guests as a third-party mediator in three TV programs as linguistic data and qualitative analysis as the analyzing method, this present paper aims to find different strategies and its reason adopted by different genders in reconciling verbal conflicts, in order to have a better understanding of gender difference in lan-guage and promote a better cross-gender communication.
