A study of biological basis in Type 2 Diabetes of Mellitus of Shenxu-tanyu Syndrome based on proteomic analysis
Objective To explore the changes in serum protein and mechanism of type 2 diabetes of Shenxu-tanyu syndrome in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)by using proteomics. Methods 100 case of type 2 diabetes patients are grouped as shenxu-tanyu syndrome group and non-shenxu-tanyu syndrome group (in-cluding Qi and Yin deficiency, spleen hypofunction and dampness accumulation, deficiency of yin and ex-cessive heat syndrome,Liver-Kidney Yin deficiency and blood stasis due to qi deficiency).According to TCM syndrome classification. The serum samples from all patients and 50 cases of healthy people were de-tected by using iTRAQ (isobaric tag for relative and absolute quantitation).By using the mascot software, the spectra were collected and analyzed quantitatively. Results Compared with the non-shenxu-tanyu pa-tients and healthy people, the proteomics of shenxu-tanyu patients had markedly changed. There were 20 different expressions of protein in shenxu-tanyu syndrome group and non-group,among which 7 protein expressions were up-regulated,while 13 protein expressions were down-regulated.There were 36 different protein expressions between Shenxu-tanyu syndrome of type 2 diabetes and healthy group, among which 15 proteins down,21 proteins up-regulated.The differences are statistically significant (P <0.05).Conclu-sion The proteomics of shenxu-tanyu syndrome type 2 diabetes are significantly different from non-shentu-tanyu group and healthy people.
